Andew-Jean Lafaurie and his Tiger Woods’ ‘mystery’ publication

ANDRÉ-JEAN LAFAURIE died Tuesday evening, victim of an illness that took him away in a few days to a week of his 66th birthday. He began his career as a journalist at “La Voix du Nord” before moving to Paris for a first period as a general practitioner. With famous bursts of shards. He was one of the very few reporters to be received in the London lair of top secret Mc Cormack (IMG), the man through whom sports management has taken on considerable weight. Not many of them could enter Georges Simenon’s Swiss apartment either. André-Jean was there and jealously guarded a pipe offered by the father of the “Maigrets”.

The Canal adventure

Then he turned to golf. At Europe 1 first and then as editor-in-chief (for 25 years) of “European Golf”. In 1984, he participated in the great Canal adventure, imposing for 20 years, with his accomplice Bernard Pascassio, golf in the French media landscape. To the point of becoming one of the world’s most recognized specialists. He was even a member of the very closed Royal and Elder of St. Andrews, the golf mecca.

When his contract was terminated, he decided to return to the Basque Country of his origins by settling in Saint-Jean-de-Luz. In Chantaco, of course, where he liked to share games with his friend Jean Garaialde.

His latest book

A period when continuing to write episodically for golf journals, he began his second career: novelist. His first saga, “La Maison Etcheverry” (three volumes), was a great success. It was followed by “Marées de Socoa” (two volumes). A third is due out at the end of the month. He had finished writing it in July. In the meantime, he had also signed a “Dictionary of golf lovers” by being the second performer in this prestigious collection of Plon. After Bernard Pivot.

This man of great culture, obsessed with words, had a third facet: he was a good jazz pianist. He had created a group in Paris which performed at the Petit Journal or at Castel. In the Basque Country, he willingly participated in a few sessions with some of his many musician friends. Very discreet, André-Jean will be greatly missed by those who had the privilege of sharing always terribly enriching moments.

The funeral will take place tomorrow, Friday, 24th October, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. in the church of Saint-Jean-de-Luz.

When he retired, he moved to Saint-Jean-de-Luz, in the Basque Country where he had his roots, and began a career as a novelist with a successful saga La maison Etcheverry (three volumes) and Les marées de Socoa , whose third volume is to appear. He  died on October 23, 2014 in Saint-Jean-de-Luz (Pyrénées-Atlantiques) at the age of 65.

André-Jean LAFAURIE – Publication date: 10/10/2013
We laugh a lot, in this universe which consists of sending a bullet into a hole with instruments that do not seem made for that.
For the first time, this devilish game reveals what it has always hidden.

GOLF Forget what you think you know about these four letters and their ready-made and all false ideas. Finally, know what is behind this difficult exercise, even if it is childish: to send a ball into a hole.  If it was only that!  There is something else.  But what ?  All.

Practitioners are looking for which inner lock he breaks. The others are afraid, but are fascinated. In the Dictionary of Golf Lovers, they will check their worst suspicions. As soon as you touch it, you can’t do without it.
Finally !
Here’s a golf book that anyone who hasn’t (yet) will read
