AGW member Nick Rodger has written a wonderful article featuring our dear friend and colleague, Renton Laidlaw that appeared in Saturday’s edition (January 9th) of the Herald Scotland.

Renton holds a unique position in the now 83-year history of the AGW being the only member to have been Secretary (1978-1995), Chairman (199-1998) and President (2004-2005). He joined the Association in 1963 and 1995 was honoured with Life Membership.

Nick reports Renton is in good spirits and seemingly comfortable at home as he continues to mend from his fall last year. Of course, Renton was pretty chuffed late last year with the inaugural hosting of the Renton Laidlaw Quaich that he so generously provided, and won at Kingsbarns Links by an equally proud Dave Edwards.

Thank you so much to Nick for sharing with members his article.
