Less than 24-hours after Tiger Woods captured a record-equalling 82nd PGA Tour victory and the AGWs Rob Perkins has created Association history in capturing the Ron Moseley Trophy.

Rob, as the reigning AGW ETIQUS ‘Road to Hoylake’ Golfer of the Year, is the first AGW member to win all five tournaments conducted by the Association and denying Colin Callander of the achievement by a single Stableford point.

Rob recorded 37 Stableford points today in glorious autumn conditions at Delamere Forest and win the Ron Moseley Trophy from Colin who posted 36 points.  It is also the second straight success at Delamere Forest for Rob having won last year’s Michael Williams Hogget on the course.

And ensuring it was tight at the top was Adam Lanigan who produced 35 points to finish third at Delamere Forest.

Rob Perkins wins 2019 Ron Moseley

AGW Captain, Peter Dixon congratulates Rob Perkins in winning the 2019 Ron Moseley trophy at Delamere Forest.

Rob proudly joined the AGW in 2011 winning a first victory in capturing the 2016 Presidents Putter at Dundonad Links and then a year later Rob won the R & A Salver at Royal Birkdale and it was a second AGW victory that later with Rob handed the Fred Pignon Trophy in capturing the 2017 AGW Championship.  Last year he captured the Michael Williams Hogget on the AGWs first visit to Delamere Forest.

Now we extend out congratulations to Rob who has become the first AGW Member to win all five of our trophies.

Colin won a first AGW trophy with success at the 2006 Michael Williams Hogget and then came victories in the 2010 Golf Writers Championship, the 2015 Presidents Putter and the 2016 R & A Salver.

And let’s not forget Alistair Tait, and also a winner of four of the five AGW trophies, and with the only success to allude Alistair being the Presidents Putter while Mark Garrod has won the ‘traditional’ four but retired before the inaugural staging of the R & A Salver

Rob now heads into tomorrow’s (Tuesday, 29th October) AGW season-ender teeing-up on the 2022 Open Championship host venue at Royal Liverpool trailing one point behind Colin as the duo strive to be named … AGW ETIQUS 2019 Golfer of the Year title.
