ETIQUS Gary Butler congratulates Denis Kirwan on his award as 2022 AGW Golfer of the Year AND with AGW Golf Captain Peter Dixon awarding Denis the DeVere trophy and the first Irish-born AGW member to win the overall 2022 ETIQUS – AGW Golfer of the Year title
With three players vying to become the AGW Etiqus Golfer of the Year heading into the final two events we were guaranteed a fitting climax to the season at Wallasey and Royal Liverpool at the end of September.
Sharing the lead on 70 points were Denis Kirwan, David Facey and Rob Perkins. In the event, it was Denis who emerged victorious after two excellent rounds of golf played in tough conditions on two superb courses.
With scores of 37 points at Wallasey and 28 at Hoylake, Denis became the first golfer from Ireland to lift the coveted De Vere Trophy. With a total of 135 points, he beat Facey (32 and 26) by seven andPerkins (22 and 28) by 15. For his supreme efforts, he was also presented with an Etiqus watch by Gary Butler, the owner and founder of the company.
- Very special thanks to AGW Golf Captain Peter Dixon
