Rob Perkins Captures 2018 Michael Williams Hogget At Delamere Forest.

Rob Perkins, and out in the first group, birdied the opening two holes on route to victory in the 2018 Michael Williams Hogget staged at the Delamere Forest Golf Club in Cheshire, England.
Delamere Forest is ranked 44th in England’s top-100 and second only to Royal Liverpool in Cheshire.  The course was designed by distinguished architect, Herbert Fowler and the opening match featured five-time Open Champion, James Braid.

Nine AGW members along with Delamere Forest club captain, Steve Lamb and ETIQUS Gary Butler plus Nick Peake (brother to Trevor Peake) were greeted to a glorious autumn day, a warm clubhouse welcome and lunch ahead of tackling a truly fabulous heathland layout.
Rob posted six other pars to amass 35 Stableford points to finish four points clear of Andy Farrell with Dick Turner managing 30 points despite battling a troublesome back.
The win is Rob’s fourth AGW title and leaves him just a Ron Moseley trophy success shy of becoming the very first AGW member to capture the AGW ‘Grand Slam’ of all five AGW trophies.

Rob’s win he headed into the defence of the AGW Golf Writers Championship at Royal Liverpool having leaped 33 points clear in the AGW – ETIQUS Race to Hoylake that also concludes on the famed Open Championship venue at Hoylake.
Lastly, a huge thank you to Steve Lamb, Club Captain at Delamere Forest for the club’s generous hospitality along with Sports Impact’s John Collard for his own welcome and arrangments and to all those members, including many who drove considerable distance, for their support for the outing.
